I have just joined up. I am completely brand new to paddling, but I have ordered an Apache, and I am looking forward to spending sometime on the water with my daughter and her friend.
I am quite interested in bushcraft side of things, but I am far from an expert.
I have recently made a few knifes, for friends and family, and even one for a swap for some gortex gear. Also into old Land Rovers.
Phil
Welcome aboard Phil
Sounds like you will fit right in on here, any questions dont hesitate to ask, I'm sure someone will be able to help out.
Hi
Another fellow paddle from Scunny.
Not that I stop round here much to paddle.
We had a trip on the Chesterfield canal recently - the put in is between Gainsborough and Bawtry - its a lot more sheltered there than the Ancholme. The wind usually whips down that.

Hi ya Phil, welcome to C-waV, pull up a comfy one and make yourself at home.
I hope you don't have too long to wait for the Apache. You'll have to post up some picies when you have got it, always exciting when someone is getting a new boat especially when its their first.
Hope to catch up with you on the water in the not too distant future.
Hi Phil,
Greetings and welcome....
Make sure you get two nice biege stickers for that new boat, they look nice on the side of an Apache....
Happy new boat...

Welcome
you will find joining any of the members on a meet will always be a day to remember so I look forward to meeting you on the water sometime.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Being into bushcrafty things suprised you haven't bodged up a home made boat. Always amazed at how bushcrafters are able to rehandle a knife, do a quick bit of leather work, all while they are grilling their dinner on an open fire before retiring to their shelter. Open paddling just sort of fits into this sort of image. You'll find that forum members cover a wide spectrum of interests apart from paddling and at least some of them are keen bushcrafters as well.

I've been known to trim a bush now and then....

Hi Phil, a warm welcome to the Forum, plenty of like minded folk on the forum, look forward to seeing you on the water sometime.
Regards Bill
