The C100 Dragon paddle, used for dragon boat racing. The question is; Has anyone used one for an open? Is it a viable paddle? and how does it perform?
The back looks like it offers too much water disturbance for solo paddling where using, for example, the Indian Stroke.
The reverse, cross desk, stroke will not have the same effect either as there will be a certain amount of pushing through the water offering less resistance

Deep water width will offer a great power stroke ideal for tandeming the DW next April!!

That is, for those technical purists

For the likes of me, as a solo paddler it may help me keep up on the flat water water. Rolleyes

Or keep you out of the water ? Whistle Forgive me mate just could'nt resist lol Regards Bill
the dragon boat paddle is a cut down version of their canoe paddle on a short shaft. the blade is not long enough and is a lot shorter than an ottertail or those redpainted voyageur paddles.
when dragon boaters go long distance such as accross the channel or the great river race they use canoe racing paddles often cranked like zaverals .

in a canoe they are like using teaspoons.

will bring some next time to a meet
