Launch fee £5 , when you get to the warden office next door to the cafe.

This is a great chill out venue as the lake is only 2 miles or so in length and incorporates total relaxation and fews f some spectacular boat houses and properties small enough to mortgage (if you are working)
Expect to spend about 3 to 4 hours if you relax properly and enjoy the day

My entry preference is from the North end. The lake is situated on the Leek - Macclesfield road A523 with easy access to either start point

To ge to the northern end simply take the first left after you pass the end of the lake. Then firstleft again. The fisherman park here as well

Once on the lake I take the easter shore and half way down stop for a quick brew stop and take in the surroundings.
Continue down this side until you get the the visitor centre zone. Pull in to the small bay and you can leave the canoe waterside without getting in the way. Nip in to the cafe for a cuppa and piece of cake or even bacon butty. Nip in to the vistor centre and learn a little more. If you have time take the miniture railway from one end to the other. Why? No particular reason.

Travelling up the west side there are some great properties to view. keep going until you find your final stop of point.

THe tree to chill out under is quite obvious. Make the most of it as you are only 10 minutes from the finish.
