Thank you all for the tremendous reception, and especially from such an enthusiastic crowd of canoers!

I suppose I should introduce myself more formerly now.

My name is Andrew, although all my friends call me Monster (an old nick name going back to the days of BBS boards.) Yesterday I turned 39 years young and I've been sitting in canoes since I was three.



My quick escape paddle which keeps me in shape through the winter has always been a place known as the Ladner Marshlands where I spend far too much time chasing birds with my camera or just lazing away sunsets while floating with the tides.

By the way, of course I'd be happy to help a UK visitor out with acquiring a canoe if they ever were to visit. As a matter of fact I'm in touch with paddlers right across this country and we often help eachother out when visiting from one province to the other. As a consequence I've been able to do extensive paddling all over British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario.

We canoers have to stick together

Stunning photo's! I've visited Canada twice but with work and pre canoe interest. I now see that as a complete waste. I would love to travel over again but I'm afraid the cost is a little prohibitive, still we have the lakes, not paddled them all yet

I also have been known to take photos of birds, the thing is neither them or the wife approve, the bruises are better now
