The Grey Owl Sugar Island is a moderately priced power blade from their recreational range, a thing of beauty, laminated from cherry, ash, bass and walnut with PU edge protection.
Due to the size of the Blade and the weight, the Sugar Island is best suited to moving water, on a lake or canal you'd have to be built like a Warthog to use it for any length of time without tiring. Much stronger and durable than a pure Basswood paddle.
Blade Area: As can be seen from the A4 Gauge, a large blade area, providing excellent propultion compared to the Scout, but tiring over long distances, due to lack of flex.
