The Carlisle Beaver Tail is a low priced, budget power blade, not a thing of beauty, laminated from Basswood with PU edge protection.

Like the Scout, you will always find the Beaver Tail in my boat and more often than not in my hands. An excellent blade for coping with windy conditions and for when you want to get a "move on". It sapps energy far less than similar sized blades, like the Sugar Island, due to the generous flex and light weight.

Blade Area: As can be seen from the A4 Gauge, a reasonably large blade area, providing excellent propultion compared to the Scout, but can be tiring over long distances.

This is probably one of our most popular paddles that we sell, ideal for experts and beginners alike, it is great as an all-round paddle it is smooth through the water, nice for J strokes and has that extra bit of power if needed.

Cheers Graeme
I am now looking to add a beaver-tail to my paddle armoury and this looks as good any to start with.

Great review Red.

Great review Red.

So now you have had chance to play, what are your thoughts?
Excellent. Smile
I do like these. I didn't use any other paddle for the duration of the Norfolk holiday!

It feels very light so echoing Reds comment in the review. I don't consider myself knowledgeable enough to weigh up pro's and cons of different paddles, but found it a joy when J stroking. Also found myself using the gunwale to lever off far less, but this just may be me getting better! Wink
YC,
To accompany this review will you be submitting prices to the Sales & Swap section for this paddle and the lengths available?
