A couple of weeks ago the kids and I hooked up with Sir Jammy(Sean) and Mrs Jammy-Dodger(Anne) for a paddle and picnic at Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire, a delightful place for a relaxing paddle.

First to arrive at 9.00am, paid our launch fee (fiva per canoe) which includes parking for the day, and we loaded the canoes and enjoyed a little play waiting Sean and Anne's arrival.

Anne and Sean arrive and we're soon on the water and heading for a spot for a morning cuppa. A suitable location was found, complete with rope-swing for the kids, and Bethany and Aiden were soon into the swing of things and loving every minute.

Lewie, the king of the swingers.

What is the connection with "The Jungle book" and why?

After coffee and biscuits, brewed by Sean of course. I mean whty else would you ask him along. We're back in the canoes and off to explore the north end of the lake.

Some just take relaxation to a new level.

Soon we're all back in the canoes for the paddle back to the visitors centre, but not before enjoying a water fight with splashing paddles and bailers being employed, it was great fun, and a good to cool off.
