This is the annual pilgrimage to run the section of the North Tyne from Barrasford down to Tyne Green in Hexham on the 6th - 9th November including the infamous Wardens Gorge section of G3+ WW.

There is a race for all classes, C1, K1, Open Canoe, Wavehopper, GP Kayak, check out the website Tyne Tour warthog has run this a few times.

Could be a fun event for the WW minded.
Thanks Graeme.....Now where's me Calendar....

Anyone else up for this one....Question

Cheers
Red.
Thought about is last year.
Too cold Smile
warning
although a great event and well worth supporting
be aware that the river is wall to wall plastic and if you can get in a pub it is standing room only and there will be a traffic jam at the get in's both days
if you like a peaceful paddle with a few buddys it might not be your thing
you need to be in the spirit of sharing the river with hundreds of others
Kayaks give way to canoes, or else Devil

If you are racing you do have right of way.

We don't stop on Tyne Green we have found a nice camping/caravan site about 5 miles away with a decent pub just up the road.
sounds good G
now if you can arrange for an official last canoe down the gorge as a broadside to sweep aside the yakkers hogging the surf wave then i could be up for it. but i may need protection afterwards Wink
We could always ask Stu to bring up the rear,,,, just in case Wink

This is a couple of pictures of Adam on last years tour

See the kayakers paddling away Wink

So the list starts

Andy?
Peace and quiet isn't really what this event's about. It really is a great experience to see that many boats on the water. I'm a solo paddler, and love my solitude, but rarely miss a tour, it may be crowded but everyone is out for a laugh so it's all smiles and giggles.

If your having problems with the kayakers on the surf wave just give me a shout, I normally spend Saturday afternoon at the bottom of the gorge and I'm developing a bit of a reputation, I even had kayakers asking me to take there mates off the wave last year.

A few pics to wet your appetites.

Sorry John Shy

Some great pictures there joy

I think over the last 9 years we have only missed the event twice, great atmosphere, although a little chaotic at Tyne Green due to the numbers, the freshers are all ways good for a laugh Rolleyes

Its a great weekend of paddleing think it must be time for me to do it with a single blade, would be great to see some of you there.
