Syllabus says "improvised sail"
If you take a sail from a windsurfer,cut ,reshape and make your own mast and boom using canoe poles is that enough "improvisation"?.
Mine does look a bit Heath Robinson

Alternately we could raft two or three canoes together andan "A-frame and tarp rig".
