this is a very popular place, and you need to get here reasonably early at weekends, to get a parking spot near the lake, to avoid carrying the canoe any distance.

there is a launching fee £6.50? per canoe.
and you need to be a member of the BCU, or have insurance. (they ask for your membership card)

there are changing rooms/toilets/shower facilities.
(use the toilets in the main building, the outside ones are filthy)

to hire one of their canoes/kayaks you need a minimum of 1*BCU certificate.
i borrowed some of their BA's for the kids, without charge...

put in/take out point located off the main PAY and DISPLAY car park, (£2 for up to 6pm if i remember correctly)
launch from concrete ramp or canoes can be launched from the sandy shore.
do not use the wooden pontoon in the background, this is private.
(see first pic. in TT)

theres two pubs , a chippy, and cafes in the vacinity,

a pleasant walk can be done around the lake,

there is a also a nature reserve on the far side with a "hide" for bird watching, where we have seen Herons.

this lake is exposed, and can get rather windy,

caraven/campsite a short distance away, on the far side of the lake-follow the road around the lake , and pass the wine press pub,
ive never stayed here so cant comment,,
