When I joined this forum I was on my own
But strangely enough I didn’t feel alone
As soon as I joined in on a thread
Friendly banter soon removed all dread
And then I jumped and joined a meet
People never met before were pleased to greet
Not just me but others who felt new
What a great feeling to be considered one of the crew.
For me I am nota member of any canoe club and I only pay my dues to the BCU for insurance and official access to certain waterways. I have made many friends since July last year and some of tem I have met and others I wouldn’t recognise if I bumped in to them in the street.
Participating in my first thread was the biggest jump to be made and now I am one of the regular suppliers of comment some good some bad.
Forums as open and friendly as this one are so easy and relaxed to participate and you can for a while live behind your own anonymity.
So why post the General thread. Its great to see members on he forum reading all its input and I ask now why don’t you put you fingers to work on the keyboard and help us make fun music.
Join us as well, for a meet the gang, and have a beer or two or even tea if that is your preference at the end of summer meet, EoSM. I even bring my wife and she hates water apart from a small drop in her malt.
