Hi All

I am thinking of buying a 2nd hand trailer and converting it to carry my canoe.

I just need to extend the tow hook from 2ft to 6 ft.

Attach 4 corner posts, pad to hold in position, bungee down and away I go.

I have a roof rack but can not cope with the 32kg weight, or rather the awkwedness of it.

Is the trailer a good idea.

Someone I know has already volunteered to cut and drill etc.

Is this a good idea.

Best bit is with some wheels I can load and unload on my own with out too much lifting.

Regards

I personally think that a trailer is invaluable and borrow one on occassions from CV
Hi Stephanie, yep trailer is a good idea, just a tip, think of having box, metal or wood fitted to either half or full length of trailer, invaluable for carrying all your camping gear.

Best Regards Bill

Hi Steph,

Have you thought about a roller on the rear bar of your roof rack...?

Terry and Jude use this to great effect....Exclamation

Alternatively, if you're looking for a trailer to modify, we've got one in storage...not sure if it will suit your needs, but can provide photo's...

Cheers

Hi Redframe

That is very kind of you.

Where do you live.

Friday is a day off for me and I might go and look at some half price Halford trailers.

How boring is that but it is really frustrating not to be able to get on the water yet.

regards
