Hi guys can I pick your brains on a sticky one.....

I am supposed to be going camping and paddling next weekend in Lincon. I am visiting my 8 (soon to be 9) year old daughter and I have promised that we will camp over and go for a paddle.

The problem is that I cannot find a near to Lincoln that does not cost a small fortune......

After that I fancy paddling through the centre of Lincon but I am unsure of the access agreements in the marina ? Anybody got any ideas or want to join us for the paddle on saturday.

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP

I was about to suggest getting in touch with Andy (Out n about) But...
Hi Greg,

The Witham that flows through Lincoln passes Washingborough then on towards Bardney, a friend of mine has done some W/Camping there on the river bank, can't think of any proper sites near lincoln and the marina now has the university on it's doorstep, so probably best to avoid an overnighter around there. Andy.

Of course the River Slea is an option about 18 miles away.
Cheers Andy.

I am looking for proper campsites just ones that dont cost the earth. My little one is not up for wild camping yet but loves camping on campsites ( got to be greatfull for small mercys at least she likes camping).

I fancy paddling on the river witham and going thru the marina as we have talked about it every time i have gone down to visit. we regularly sit on the side of the marina munching lunch chatting about paddling thru.

I have camped at the Pywipe inn on the bank of the Fosdyke canal a couple of miles from Lincoln. not actually a propper campsite but very close to one. Very esay access to the water and the canal joins to the river Witham in the Brayford pool which is where the marina is.
I was not charged for camping, water, use of the toilets etc. I just had to buy a pint or two.

However.
The pub has changed hands a couple of times since than so I don't know if the Landlord would allow it now.
Got to be worth asking.
