Hi Greg
Good for you mate, there is nothing wrong with having the ability for paddling with two blades as well as one
Great news on you starting on the coaching ladder, there will be plenty of help coming your way I am sure from us fellow coaches, you are nearly there ready to start with your new 2* award all you need now if you have not already got one is the FSRT and you can start your UKCC L1 course.
If you would like any help just ask

Cheers Graeme.
I still cannot get it going in a straight line yet

It spins as soon as I stop concentrating......
I will be looking into the FSRT soon when cash allows and then I will be getting on a L1 course.

Simple tip, pick a stationary point on the land and look at it, keep focusing on it and paddle towards it, don't look at the front of your boat just at the fixed point

This normally works, you could also try closing your eye's after picking a point and paddling towards it and see how far out you are after a few strokes, you would be surprised how close you maybe to the target
As for FSRT, Heather maybe running a course for a local club shortly, so will drop you the nod if there is a spare place

oh and a 3* training and assessment in canoe as well.
