I like coffee, instant is fine, I can live with that, it has its moments, but in the morning you can't beat a good cuppa ground coffee. I have (somwhere) an MSR coffee filter, thats ok but the mesh is blocking up with coffee dust and you can only make one cup at a time.
Also I like the idea of an enamel coffee potthe likes what Wyatt Earp would use over his campfire.
I tracked one down and handed over my hard earned money. The pot in question is here
My initial thoughts were that the quality of the pot wasn't up to what I was hoping for, but hey ho Iv'e got it now. A couple of tries at home on the gas hob and the woodywoodgas were a sucsess with enough water and coffee for one cup.
The real trial came at Bills place.

Here you can see the pot and the perculator gubbins, the inside bits are light weight ally that can be bent if you are not carefull (its ok tho' if you store it in the pot)
I basicly tipped a load of coffee in the perc bit until no more would fit without spewing every where, the added water until just below the perc.
Then I wacked it on the Yucon

Where once it started to boil it coughed a bit of coffee out, upon inspection some of the ground coffee had made a desperate bid for freedom and were swimming around the pot.
To be honest this didn't pose a problem as no one who had a coffee was spitting coffee bits out, either it wasn't a problem or the guys were to polite to say. Me I had no problem.
To sum it up, it isn't the best quality, it makes about a litre of real coffee and you can keep the coffee hot on a fire, I like it tho' it isn't every bodys cup of tea.
Cheers
Tim
