Thanks Graeme. Won't be needing any of them canvas bags now that I have a wanigan.

For overnight/weekend trip stuff I think this beats the hell out of blue barrel ferrying and far nicer to look at. I'll still be using my prize winning dry-bag for clothing and such, but the wanigan will take most of everything else.

The belt idea thanks, might be a trip to the local factory shop tomorrow.

You could use the left over bits of the belts for carrying handles

I already decided that it should have rope carrying handles one on either end!

So a bit more wood added!

Well today and because it's not raining, I decided that I should make sure it fitted in the canoe as the only time I'd referred to the canoe was earlier on for a brief measurement taking. (see earlier pics) Anyway having now decided it should sit between the yoke and the back of the front seat, I was more than pleased to see it fitted.




Ah! The one side of the box is still to receive its first coat of varnish because I still have to pyrograph the C-waV logo onto it!

So as not to lower the quality of pyrography appearing on Red's thread. I thought I'd pop my somewhat poor attempt here.


It is only a logo after all, and didn't need the same level of skill. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
