looking absolute fantastic nige i really envy you not only have you made such a lovely wanigan but you have the skill to burn the wood in such a fashion it resembles an image of great significance i envy your skills i just wish my skills were just as good but me personally i would have set the wood alight just so i could put it out afterwards thats as far as my skills go hehe joyjoy
Thanks Iain. Not much in the way of carpentry skills for me either. It has been a welcome change to actually finish something I started, and I have enjoyed doing it. Only brought the pyrograph iron to burn the logo on to the wanigan but has proved very addictive. Glad you like the windmill.

Cheers
Nige.
After much debating and with the "Frostbite" looming, I decided to re-sze my wanigan. As previously posted it was a tad large to be practical. So out came the jigsaw, bent blade and all, and hack 5 - 6" out of it.

You've all no doubt heard of "stitch and glue" well this is more like "tack and sealant".

A lot lighter and still with enough room for the Kelly, new "cowboy" coffee pot, all my brewing bits, a bit of food, and spare jacket. A more manageable box all-round, well rectangle!
Looking good Nige, a lot more manageable I would have thought, but can you please explain why you have the Two Hinges so close together or are you fitting another two nearer to the edge of the box ?? and are you still going to fit a lifting rope/strap. ??
Regards Bill
Lookin good Nige, looks a lot easier to handle.

Cheers
Tim

The lid needs more work! I was going to fit four, but will have to wait till after the frostbite. Its functional again now and has been packed, much to releif of Trace who can now have her dining room table back.

There will be a rope/strap between the 2 handles.
