Hi All

A few of us, Petey, Biff, UKB and myself are considering a weekend meet on the Chelmer (Essex).

There are a couple of potential date options ie May Bank hols (end of May) or Mid/late June.

Before we fix a weekend, I wondered;
1) how many people would consider attending?
2) would you prefer May bank hols or late June

Not, the Chelmer starts in Chelmsford then runs through mainly farmland before reaching the sea lock at Heybridge basin. About halfway is Papermill lock tearooms. The navigation (canalised river) is 14 miles long (approx) and has 12 locks, including the sea lock.

If there is interest I will scout out camping options.
I've voted for both as I'm interested but it is too early for me to know for sure if I'm available for either date.
I've voted for the mid June meet with a preference to a weekend after June 16th which would enable me to take advantage of other river born canoe based activities.
I've voted for both. Is there not the possibility of doing both?

Biff
Work should settle down next week giving me time to check out camp sites.
I've voted Mid - Late June as May BH is out for us and a number of others that will be attending the CCC Mordiford meet.

Cheers
Red.
Hi all

I am sorry to have gone quiet on this.

I currently have pneumonia, which is actually a secondary infection to the glandular fever that I have :-(

So I will come back to this in the new year.
Sorry to hear that you're ill, Baggy. Hope you get well soon.

Biff
Plenty of time to get this organised in the new year.

Hope you feel better soon.

I also think doing both weekends is a good idea.
Wondered why all had gone quiet from you Baggy - Bloody hell, that's not fair! You are having a hard time of it this Autumn ILL

I'll join you for your first paddle of 2010, if you want some company...
I hope you feel better soon Mark & I hope you have a good paddlable Xmas this year.
