What the manufactures say,

The Prospector is probably the most famous of all canoe designs and has never been bettered for all-round performance. We are proud to have this as the basis for one of our most successful canoes.

Combining this classic shape, performance with our new CoreLite material, the result is a hard wearing craft that is ideal for centres and enthusiasts who have paddling whitewater high on their priority list.

Length 15 464cm / 15' 2"
Width 91cm / 36"
Weight 33kgs / 72lbs
Seats 2
Rocker Moderate
Max Load 370kgs / 815lbs
OK what do I think,,, well I was fortunate enough to paddle the very first P15 out of the factory and fell in love with the boat straight away.

It just glides through the water with some sharp entry lines, the tumblehome gives it great primary and secondary stability, the rocker gives it great turning and maneuverability, it surfs like a dream, it tackles G3 without batting an eye and as a touring boat is really good.

Even 3 up Wink

Solo or tandem, flat or WW this is my favourite boat,,,,,, so far Wink
I have only paddled a 16'ter and that was in a small pool, it felt......well...like a prospector should heeled over nicely and turned well. On moving water can't say for sure but I recon it would hold its own.

Cheers

Yep, another Venture boat that does exactly what it says on the tin, only paddled one for 10 mins, but I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a no nonsense prospector.
This is a most excellent boat - I love mine.

Out of the water I find it heavy. But its performance on a trip with the whole family just about makes up for that.

Cheers
