Popped in to see the Guy's and Gal's in my favourite
Camping Centre today, there's quite a few nice looking Polycotton tents comming onto the market this year...
I may, and that's a BIG may, get me mitts on one of these to test out at the Frostbite...
Two main Poles, with the skin hung from the poles like the Hogans...
300 is 16.1kg and 73 x 38 cm pack size (darn good for polycotton..!) and easily do-able for canoe camping.
500 is 20.8kg and 73 x 50 cm pack size
Perhaps a modern take on the Baker tent....?
Floorplan for the 500...
And for the 300...
Wild guess on pricing is the 500 will be sub £500.00, but whatever it is you'd be VERY hard pushed to find it IN STOCK and cheaper than at Casey's...
Cheers

im sure my outwell needs replacing

is it the same make as your trailer tent?
Hi Andy,
No, and as far as I know, Robens are not "related" to Cabanon....
Robens are a HUGE name in Europe, apparently, but they've just not broken the UK market.
I was looking at a Robens last year (not the same model as this is a new one for 2010), but Casey's and everyone else sold out before I could get my mitts on one, that was about April time....
From what I've seen they certainly have the 'edge' on the other manufacturers, as the quality is way, way up there, and their understanding of "Canvas" tents is second to none....
Cheers

Sure I heard someone mention CANVAS !

or was I dreaming

Regards Bill
can't comment on this model, but we've had our Robens for a few years now, it is well designed and put together well.
Cheers

Both 'out of stock' at
Camperlands, but prices are as follows:
Vista 300 - £429.99
Vista 500 - £519.98
There are some others, like the Cabin Tent which are cheaper (£269.99 and £394.99), but only 2-season. They're doing an interesting take on the
Teepee.
Biff
as everyone sold out of tents this year as brits stayed at home and camped
then there may be a glut of quality tents on fleabay soon
This would be a plan Andy, but this BaBy wasn't around last year...
It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up...

Well, we've used the 300 a number of times over the last 12 months.
I can say that it's more than surpassed our expectations, it's very easy to and quick put up even Solo, and once pegged out is solid. It provides enough space for two when the weather turns typically British and being Polycotton is nice and quiet when the wind gets up...
A great bit of kit...

Robens is made by the same company that make Outwell Tents (and Easy Camp). It is a Danish company but I believe production has moved to China.
Here is the website of the parent company showing all the brands they own...
