Many moons ago I witnessed a friend remove the tip of his thumb whilst splitting wood for kindling, so while I had my chopper out I thought I would post this one of "Tim's top tips'"
Again pictures speak louder than words.......
Easy support wood with.....well with another piece of wood.
Tw&t the piece of wood to be chopped with as much force as you feel, cos' your pinkies will be well away, one other bit is make sure that the blade goes into something soft when it has gone through the wood.this preferably would be a chopping block or such like and not your leg.

Happy choppin'
Cheers
