Hi all,
I been sent this picture to try and get a bead on what it is aside from being a kayak. It is 16` long and of wooden construction throughout, and has been stored for a while.

Cheers

hi Nige

that looks like an exact replica of a stitch and glue boat i built with my dad about 34 odd years ago

carn't tell you anything about it , i remember he bought a proper set of plans including the cutting templates from somewhere, acquired the resin etc and a month or two later we had 2 canoes ( this is what introduced me to grp and led to Apache canoes )

would be very interested to find out what it is

cheers

stu
It could have come out of the Fyne Boats stable Wink
Right, well, if we're tracing stuff...

The last boat I saw that looked anything like this was made with fibreglass, but it was VERY close...

It was known as a Taft special, made by the Taft's of Ellesmere Port, a born and bred Canoeing family if I ever met one...Wave

I believe Malcom is still involved in canoeing...Question

Cheers
