i first tried my hammock with my thermarest

when laid on my back it really stood the test

i felt like a change and when i rolled

it wasnt long till' i felt the cold

*

if you like to lay upon your side

off your mat you'll slip and slide

*

i found the answer with a bit of advice

from a mountain man that i met once or twice

"they dont come cheap, but they're worth every penny

check out BCUK to see if theres any"

*

his name's Wild Bill and he's a real good sort

i took his advice, and i got one bought

i handed out my money for it to be paid

then waited a while, cos' they're specially made

*

dont use paracord to hang it with

better using bungee cord to make it give

gently does it not too tight

nice and toastie you'll sleep all night

*

boiledbeef wrapped in a green cocoon

all you'll hear is a snoring tune

zip it up all nice and warm

no need to worry bout'the wind or a storm

all wrapped up like a pea in a pod

wont be long till your having a nod

if keeping warm is all you fear

check this out ive got one here

no more cold when you stick out yer arse

warmest comfort is never sparse

go down a storm on a C-waV meet

come check it out your in for a treat

my first impression is its very well made

with bcuk and snugpack boldly displayed

with a central zip that goes right along

with a baffle inside you cant go wrong

its not very bulky when its packed in its bag

just pull on the straps and compress it a tad

a little net pocket for your torch and sweets

like i mentioned before your in for a treat

i cant wait to test it while the snow still falls
with a hot water bottle to stick on me bleep

ill let you all know how i go on
but after first impressions, you'll all want one... Tongue
Excellent BB, excellent
Hello,

what a great little review!

I have one of these too ... I used it at the EOSM in October 2009 - it was my first hammock experience of hammocking and I slept better than I ever have outdoors - you are in for a real treat!!
goodun Keith, sorta reminds me of the Peoples Poet...

Cheers
Tim
cracking piece of kit that kieth .. i have the snugpak under blanket and have been looking at ways to try and cacoon it ... i like that alot
Great review Keith, this may seem a daft question but does the cocoon replace a sleeping bag?

if not surely your gonna end up lugging: hammock, sleeping bag, tarp and cocoon around?

Andy.
you need two sleeping bags at this time of year anyway Andy... Cool
would probably get away with just the cocoon at summer ...
check this out

i had a sleeping bag rated at zero, and the cocoon
but my back still got cold...
it did drop below zero though...
