If you are out paddling on moving water, what helmet do you wear?

These are a couple of mine

Sweet Strutter

Sweet Rocker Full Cut

The Strutter gets the most use as it is a great all round helmet, The Rocker Full Cut I use when paddling when it is really cold and doing some nice WW as it gives extra protection to the ears and back of the neck.

Why these two? Well they are lightweight, extremely strong (Carbon Fibre construction), have a peak to protect your face and also stop the sunlight, so no need to wear sunglasses (great for eye contact), but most importantly they are comfortable to wear and offer great head protection.

So what do you wear?

You only have one head so look after it.
For me I use a skate board helmet and have done for years. When I played on the 'dark side' I spent that much time under water upside down it was quite cushioning in the shallower water Rolleyes

Now it is time to bin it as it has had its day Sad
And it all depends on were you put the helmetWinkWinkWink

It also depends on WHERE you WERE, when you you decided to WEAR your Helmet, also if some paddlers out THERE decide not to WEAR THEIR Helmets on THEIR heads, out THERE so be it. So the onus is on the Paddler, is it not ?.
Regards Bill.
This thread is not aimed at the when or where to wear a helmet, it is about the different types available and personal preferences and why you chose that one Wink

I think guys, Iains post is meant to be humorous. Smile
my post was meant to be humorous but I cannot be held responsible if it's taken the wrong way by others.
Iain I was not holding you responsible. I was merely trying to iron out the misinterpretation.
I have one of these I recon it will do the job of head protection, its just not really that comfortable, and the ear protection seems not just for impact but for noise as well. Its like wearing ear plugs it's guess work what people are saying.
Don't tell Mandy but its on some list for replacementRolleyes

A pedator trinity, fair price, small peak I find a larger peak obscures my view of over head obstacles, I also have a prijon very robust looks like a motorcycle helmet, but the lining socks up water were as the predators sheds the water.
I have small blue helmet which hurts a bit when I keep it on for too long - it's a Protec I think. It's the wrong shape for my nut I'm afraid.

Group buy of Sweet Rocker full cut in Emergency Yellow? Have tried this helmet and is very, very comfortable.
