Yet again I was banished to the kitchen this afternoon and trying out new recipes.
whilst on our travels me and FWP landed at a Lavender farm and after going in for tea and scones we found an new ingredient to add to the mixture. Lavender.
So armed with a lavender pouch from the shop we headed home. About a year later I have finally got round to hitting the kitchen to create this mouth watering pud. And it was thumbs up all round.
I would definitely advice this recipe:
200g self raising flour
50g Butter
50g sugar
1/4 milk
pinch of salt
and all importantly about a handful of dried lavender
You put the flour, salt and sugar into a mixing bowl and then you rub the butter into the bowl until you have a breadcrumb consistency. then add your Lavender. Once you have done that then create a well in the centre of the bowl and slowly add the milk. Once all the milk is mixed in take the dough out and place it on a lightly floured board then knead the dough. Then split the dough into 8-12 round balls and place on lightly greased baking tray and brush with milk, then put in a preheated oven gas mark 7 for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Well worth it
