Well the first race of the season was at Tryweryn last weekend on the Graveyard section, why they call it the Graveyard when it starts at the top of Everest and finishes at the Graveyard who knows?
Anyway I digress,,, after a traumatic night on Thursday getting back from the hospital at 3am after admitting my dad, Heather and I were kn
ed but still we arose early on Friday morning did all the chores, visited poor old dad in hospital and eventually set off to Welsh Wales at 5.00pm, arriving at the Travelodge at 8.00, quick visit to the Little Chef for some food and in bed by 9.30 to catch up on some much needed sleep result
Up at 6.45am showered dressed and into the Little Chef for breakfast and away by 8.00 arrived at Tryweryn by 9.00 and the water had just started to release but only at 9 cumics, so it was a bit low water but fast flowing.
Heather did a practice run which went well then the wait for the first runs, Heather did a storming first run and was laying in 3rd place, then the wait for second runs, well the tiredness started to kick in with waiting around.
Second runs over (which did not go as planned) and Heather finished a creditable 4th overall and first U23
Next event,,,, Tryweryn again in April the weekend before the Bala meet
