Well I think its time to start putting this trip together, as previously mentioned it's a quiet, slow running canalised river which has been mostly abandoned since the mid 1800's. Of the 7 locks on the stretch, 1 can be jumped and ONLY 2 have what can be described as landing stages for easy portaging. The remaining locks have grassy banks on either side but it's not too difficult and there will no doubt be helping hands to make the job easier. As there are locks to be portaged we will need to be travelling fairly light to keep portaging time down as I found to my cost on a recent trip , We will need to be on the water for 10am on Saturday allowing for brew stop/ lunch etc I plan that this will be the main paddle day (approx 10.6 Miles) then camping on Sat night. Sunday will start with a lazy breakfast, strike camp then a couple of miles paddle down to the get out. Everyone can be on their way home for early lunchtime, location for meet and details will be pm'd to interested parties nearer the time but the start will be in Sleaford Lincolnshire, as always this is a peer group paddle and everyone is responsible for themselves and their kit,

Andy.

ps. there are likely to be nettles on the river banks so please wear SUITABLE clothingRolleyes

Great news, lets hope the old bugger makes it!

Been on the river today, ideal water levels and "no weed" yet, this is the weekend of the boat gathering so all in tip top condition.

Had the alligator out for a playDevilCopper

Andy.
Looking at the previous TT's it looks like a great trip. Unfortunately I'm working on the Saturday so won't be able to join you. Hope the weather gods are kind to you.

Hi Luna

There is no proper campsite on saturday night, it's just a nice location on the riverbank, if you are in the area and fancy a paddle sometime in the future please send me a pm
