I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I do like a nice mug of coffee now and again. I found the Aladdin Aveo Coffee Press at a local outdoor shop (Fox's of Amersham), but I assume they are available elsewhere. The cost about £17.

Being Aladdin, they are similar in design to they're steel flasks, and are reported to keep your drink warm for up to 6 hours, although I haven't tested this yet. Made of steel and plastic, so is strong enough for use around camp and on the brew-stop.

I tested it in the garden on a sunny weekend. A view of the working parts:

Ahh, t'was a grand cup of coffee.

Capacity - 300ml, or one standard mug.

According to the instructions, you are supposed to be able to use it to make tea with leaf tea, but I can't see how - the 'tea strainer' is far too coarse to filter tea leaves. Don't think I'll bother with that.

oh Yes

I'd have to 'PASS' on that one, not knowing the Jetboil Coffee Press, but you can get some idea as the 'tea-strainer' can seen in the second photo above the plunger. The coffee plunger is a plastic wheel with spokes, containing a fine metal gauze. The whole 'wheel' has a thin rubber 'tyre' that gives a snug fit in the flask.

For tea-making, the whole plunger is be removed. Might be OK for Chinese tea with its larger leaf, but not English.

From the look of the press it does look similar mesh to the jetboil and i have made to with that a couple of times and it wasnt too bad but you have to really give it a good wash out and leave the last little bit of the tea due to a few leaves getting through.
Cheers iain.
