And so it was, as I had to miss out on the Bala Meet I just had to get out and my mate Jeff (Nomadpaddler) for up for a one night Hammocking trip out, and one night out is better than nothing, and it would give Jeff chance to try out his new Hammock, I really wanted a very cold night so he could try out his Cocoon on his Hammock but we all know it was anything but cold, anyway it was a success never the less.

Jeff his first time with a lightly laden canoe.

Jeffs Set up.
The trip down was uneventful, but as the post title suggests, after four locks, the fifth lock was a lock to far, as I had past my second home OML.
And by the time we arrived at the site App; 17-00hrs, I was, cant really think of a polite way to say Knackered.
Still we had plenty of time to set up, we didn't have a fire, didn't warrant it as it was so warm.
We cooked dinner and just sat and had a drink chatted, putting the world to right, and by 22-30 decided to retire.

Cheers Jon
The following morning we got up at 06-00hrs, no Dawn or sunrise to see as we were in the wood which is a steep slope.and the sky was overcast threatening rain, which it did a few time, but like I said to Jeff, "well its April Showers.

At least He's Happy.
Again a rather tiring journey, but enjoyable, next on the cards is my Bluebell Paddle up the Leek Arm, then the possibility of a Cwav meet at my second home.
Best Regards Bill
