Due to popular demand there will be a weekend of paddling, camping and happy banter on the River Severn the first weekend in July

We will be based on the campsite behind the WINGFIELD ARMS in Montford Bridge, just outside of Shrewsbury.

The campsite is behind the pub directly by the put in on the river, what more could you ask for?

Book your self on to the site, you have a choice of the camping field without electric hook up or the caravan field with hook Up.

Wingfield Arms
Montford Bridge
Nr Shrewsbury

SY4 1EB

Tel 01743-850750

Cost for the caravan field for 2 people is £18-00 with hook up per night
Camping field is £3-50 per person / night (I think)

There will be a few of us staying both the friday and the saturday nights.

THE PADDLES

Saturday 3rd July - Paddle the 12 miles down the river to Shrewsbury.

Sunday - 4th July - Paddle the 9 miles down the river from The Royal Hill Inn, Melverley, back to the campsite (There may be a £1-00 launching fee per boat at the get in)

All welcome.

OK - it's a 400 mile round trip and I know I'm going to pass loads of nice flat water en-route - how do I sell this to swmbo?

and the state I'm in I might need looking after too!

Hi all,

I am keen to come and join you all on your paddling trip. Do I just need to book the camp site, and turn up with boat and kit?

I havent been in a boat since last summer, but was hardly off the water! I am looking to bring a friend, who is new to the sport as well.
Hi Neal,

It'd be great to have you along...

Yes, you'll need to book the campsite..

In terms of Canoeing kit along with the boat and paddles make sure you bring Bouyancy aids, hats, suncream and a spare change of clothes in a waterproof bag/container, if your boat does not float on its own please make sure it has some form of bouyancy fixed in... You'll also need to take some food on the runs too... Wink

Is your friend going to be paddling tandem in your boat or paddling their own boat, if they're planning on going solo they'll need to be able to paddle for 12 miles...Wink

Oh, it'd be cool if you could introduce yourself to us all in the Say Hello area of the forum.... Smile

Cheers
Red.
