Anybody know of any other kneeling thwarts on the market other than the Endless River ones? They do appear a little expensive for 3 pieces of wood and 4 bolts.
Any others out there that do not require me donating an organ first?
Nige.
Get yourself a nice piece of Ash and have a crack yourself Nige, a pal's just put one together and he mentioned the biggest expense was the long stainless bolts.
Tried that Rich, my saw wouldn't cut the wood just spent all its time trying to ignite it instead

So I quickly, but reluctantly, gave up.
So today I rang a man in Doncaster, bit the bullet and ordered one.
Lol, you'll have to show me that one, would go down a treat with my bushcrafty buddies
I got Graeme to fit me one in my new Bob, if I didn't know better I'd say it came from the same tree as the rest of the wood in there.
Rich
Does Bob mean you've got a Nova Craft Bob Special, like me?
I'm in Tadcaster so if you fancy a paddle let me know - I'm quite flexible for timing as I work for myself and usually can't be bothered.
Coincidentally, I'm just about to make my own thwart from oak decking.

Always up for a paddle Andrew
I tend to head off to the Lakes on a weekend or Scotland for longer trips. Do you paddle local ?
I can probably make the longer evenings and weekends with a bit of notice.
