I could well be up for the Weaver but don't have a trolley yet - can always pick one up if you think it's an absolute - please advise length of max portage so I can decide.

Hi Andrew,

There are some long, I dunno how long, but they're long, portages....but it's simple enough to share a trolley...Wink

Is this still a goer? - where's the put-in? what time Friday?

I sent you a PM if you get chance to read and reply that would be great.

Andrew
Hi Andrew,

OK, we're looking at leaving on the Friday from Winsford Flash (SJ 656661) at 17:30 on Friday 23rd.

If you have one, bring a portage trolley, if not we will share...

We'll be travelling as light as possible as there are three portages, and one is 300m.

I don't think we'll make the campsite before dusk, so we'll be doing it W/C stylee, there are quite a few spots on the way down I saw on my last trip down that are suitable for this.

Maps that cover this trip are Landranger 118 (majority) and 117, I'll have the Garmin with me so unless you want to you don't need to buy them.

Total distance to be covered is approx 17 miles.

I'm hoping that Chris will agree to shuttle us back to the cars if she decides not to join us.

If you're travelling over for a few days there is the Dee, the Severn the Llangollen canal for additional paddles and there's always Coed-y-Brennin near Dolgeallau if you're into your mountain biking....

Hi Simon

Adrian and I would like to join you on Saturday morning for the last few miles if thats ok. We intend to put in at Acton Bridge unless you know of anywhere a little higher up. I've put Andrews number on my phone and will ring him tomorrow and give him my number so you can give me a rough idea what time you expect to be there. Hope to see you Saturday.

Cool

Be good to see you again Frank..

Yep, we can fit one of you in, No Problem...

However......

It would save Mrs Frame a journey if you could leave one of yours near ************..... Wink (Me and Andrew would sort this out, but we will be short on time on Friday night)....

Just remember that we may be out of signal, so you may get a text early morn' on Saturday..... But we'll certainly stop and wait at Acton Bridge for you...

Please Leave a Canalvoyageur like message if you have already put in before we get there....Exclamation (See OML thread in Out n about)....

Cheers
Red.

Frank.
