On the 18th & 19th September 2010 we are pleased to announce the return of the Tryweryn Festival. The weekend programme already looks great including brilliant events, coached sessions, a film competition and film festival, shuttles for the lower river and a massive expedition on the lower river from the centre to Bala Mill for camping.
Some highlights of the event confirmed so far:
-Demo boat test weekend with Big Dog Kayaks, Dagger, Jackson Kayaks, Riot Kayaks, and Wavesport all bringing their latest.
-The Palm Europe 8-Ball Race - just like the famous Teva Games 8-Ball race in Colorado but seeing as it's the British version good sportsmanship will be the order of the day and we'll be much more polite when we push each other in "After me old chap, I insist". Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmwxjHdyKm0&NR=1 (no $100,000 cash prize, but maybe some!)to see whats in stall.
-Tryweryn trails
-The PeakUK multisport challenge - Run, Cycle, Paddle but hopefully don't swim on the tough multisport course; so you think your pretty quick at running, always overtake 100 bikers on your Llandegla Loop and never lose a race down the Tryweryn to your mates then this could be an event designed for you so enter now and start working out whats best to wear your triathalon one-piece, cycling bib shorts or so much cooler baggy (but less aerodynamic and hotter) paddling kit - we shall see! This will be possibly the toughest race at the Tryweryn since 1981..
-Lower river shuttles
-Become King or Queen of Tryweryn Freestyle; Big Dog Kayaks and squarerock will be running freestyle events at the Topsite and NRA Wave to find the best All Tryweryn freestyle paddlers.
-Coached paddling sessions available with top coaches and Team Paddlers courses and sessions include:
-Whitewater Safety and Rescue
-River Leadership
-Guided Sessions
-Surfing and playboating
Contact our office on 01678 521083 to discuss courses or book places.
-The massive lower river expedition; we want everyone at the event to join us for a paddle on the lower river and Alpkit even promise to bring some over night kit for anyone who needs a rest along the way...
-Best Welsh Short Film competition; more details to be released soon but if you know of a runnable Welsh 186.5 foot waterfall why not get your mate to do it, film him and enter our competition (and probably win).
-Film Festival
-Beef carvery
-Camping at Bala Mill
On Face book here
Any one fancy it?
cheers
Tim
