Well, paddling on a monday malarky on the Chelmer certainly has it`s advantages. Peaceful as you like, no motorboats, only 2 anglers, beautiful weather and crystal clear water. Most excellent. Bumped into a couple of guys on the way back who had an old town camper in rx. Got chatting, as you do, and ended up paddling back up to Stonehams lock again, chatting on the way. The owner of the Old Town doesn`t do computer thingies so has no idea who`s out there to chat to. Well, he`s jumped into the deep end talking to me and despite him canoeing the Chelmer for the past 3 years, we`re planning a midweek raid into darkest Kent. Battle for Medway. Just got to organise the shuttle/put in details, or even a there and back trip from one of the many put in points above Maidstone on the way to Tonbridge. D-Day? Probably Tuesday 27th July. So if you see Y Ddraig Goch on the Mudway, on this date, Beware! Here be dragons. Wanna come along? Bring ya canoe and lottsa real black coffee.
a kindred soul on a quiet day out to share a shanty or two with not bad
Must get me one O' they jobs to have mid week days orf
Trust me Jammy, you don't want my job. I spend 6 weekends out of every 10, driving an artic around the M25, including bank holidays. My shift system sucks, but I do have a secure job.
Sounds like a perfect little trip Tod, somewhat quieter your daily M25 routine. Wink

Thanks for sharing.
