Hello everyone.
Not sure if I'm doing this right, I'm new to all this forum stuff.
I've just registered and taken the advice to say hello.
I'm relatively new to paddling, about 3 years worth. I paddle an open canoe with the missus, she's the power and I sit in the back steering lazily.
We're not very adventureous, we enjoy gentle "tales of the riverbank" placid water paddles.
Living in Leicestershire is not the most exciting for paddling but we have some good rural canals and the river Soar.
We have paddled a few lakes in the lake district and are returning to the broads for the second time this august (I can recommend staying at the Sutton Staithe Hotel - good value and good grub right on the river).
I'm currently investigating the fens and any tips for trips/launch sites would be appreciated.
So, thats me. I look forward to sharing stuff.
Welcome part time paddler welcome
Hi ya again.
A big warm welcome to C-waV.

Don't worry about being new to the forum stuff, I'm sure you'll get the gist of it soon. Mind you some of the older members still have problems Wink

Nothing at all wrong with placid water paddles , each one still an adventure though. You'll fit right on in, its not all adrenaline fuelled, and most of us prefer the more sedate side of canoeing.

Great to see you heading for the Broads again, have drank and eaten at Sutton Staithe. A great put-in to, worth every penny of the donation. When are you there, as we will be on the Broads for a weeks canoeing the first week in August.

Looking forward to hearing of your less adventurous canoeing adventures Wink , and hope to catch up with you on the water sometime.

Enjoy the forum.

Nige.
