The venue tonight was the beautiful river Dee at Eccleston Nr. Chester.

It was high time I brushed up on my BCU FSRT (Foundation Safety and Rescue Training), having completed the course last year I'd not practiced anything that I'd learnt on it since.....Shy

The problem is, in order to do this I needed some willing volunteers, not just ordinary volunteers, OH NO, ones that would be prepared to capsize/jump out of their boats and get wet on purpose, and then put their trust in me to rescue them (yes, that'd be me, the one that normally reaches for the camera first before even considering rescue...Exclamation ).....Rolleyes

Now where would you find friends like that, at short notice, other than here at the WaV....Big Grin

GillD very, VERY kindly, offered to come over from Macclesfield to run the session...

And Terry and Jude again, VERY kindly, came over from Shrewsbury to act as victims....scare

Both travelling over 3/4 of an hour to come and help out.....Cool

Fil was volunteered by me to be a victim too..... Devil

But he didn't mind because he can't get enough of being in an 'ak and he was itching to get into the "Pink Pestillence" and give it a spin....

Suffice to say, we spent a good 2.5 hours on the river getting wet, VERY WET.....

It was a great evening spent out on the water, the Polish Fisherfolk were more than amiable, and provided some good banter.

By 20:30 we were all feeling the cold a bit so we headed back to our Cave for the promised hot Cuppa' and a chat.

I really can't thank GillD, Terry and Jude enough for comming over and helping a friend in need out...Wink

Thanks Guy's and Gal's, you're absoloute STARS.....joy

Cheers

Looked like a very nice evening for it, it looks like rain free too!

Glad you managed to find some volunteers.

Hi Simon

Glad to be able to help.

Judy had a great time she now wants to do her 2* Kayak and the FWSR.

Any ideas about a good coach / course provider / course dates in our area?
