hello people, im mark and im (obviously) brand new here... im looking forward to mooching around the forum and getting to know people and learning as much as possible about canoeing, im by no means an amateur, i spent 8 years in the scouts and as such learnt alot about camping and canoeing, i have recently decided to take up canoeing as a hobby and whilst im yet to buy my first canoe me and 3 friends are already in the process of planning a multi day (most likely in the range of 1 to 2 weeks) canoe trip for next year (along the length of the river great ouse, from the sea (or close to it atleast) all the way back to my home town Bedford all in aid of charity... im looking forward to getting to know all here at C-waV and i hope you dont mind a new paddler joining the ranks...

Hi Mark and welcome to C-WaV, looking forward to reading your post's.
As for buying a boat......... my honest opinion is that you can't go far wrong with a Prospector (but I am biased) what do you want from the boat?
Cheers
Tim
Hi Mark.....
Welcome to the forum.....
Not sure if I read your post right.....
You're planning on doing the Ouse UPSTREAM to Bedford as your first trip.....
Cheers
Red.
not quite My first trip red... but my first in a while... i think im mental aswell but bedford being my home town in seemed alot more logical and no long car journey back at the end of it when we are knackered and feeble... whilst it will increase our time out on the water (which no one can say is bad

) and take a fair bit more effort the other idea behind it was we wouldnt accidentally venture to far into the estuary and get pulled out on a rip that wouldnt be good :/ its a MENTAL idea i know but its for charity so what can i say
