Over the past few weeks, quite a few people have mentioned, or eluded to organising an event/trip in honour of Greame..

Personally, I believe this would be a wonderful thing to do...Smile

I'm starting this thread because I think everyone reading this should have input into what form this 'event' should take..., even if you've joined in the last two days...Exclamation Exclamation

We'd be looking at next year (2011), probably after the Spring Meet..

Any and all suggestions are welcome....joy , and none will be diss'ed..

It will be left to Wendy, Cass, Heather and Sara to make the ultimate decision...

So post 'em up..... Let's see what we get... Smile

Cheers

Good idea Red. I never had the privilage of meeting Graeme in the flesh though we swopped a number of PMs and spoke on the telephone. How about a memorial plaque of some sort that would be awarded each year. Trip tale of the year for example. Regards, Mike.
i know he enjoyed the meet at low wray.he enjoyed meeting up with all the faces that he'd talked to on the phone or internet.

That sounds like a nice idea.

Following on from suggestions made at a few meets we have been at we have come up with the following idea.

Lets replay the 2009 FREE Coaching weekend. Smile

http://www.canoewithaview.co.uk/forum/sh...hp?tid=871

This gave an opportunity for flat water, white water, shopping for non paddlers, chilling out and socialising.
Thus there is something for everyone. Cheers WW Duet tipi

We thought about making it the first Bank Holiday Weekend in May next year i.e. 29th April till 2nd May thus allowing everyone an extra day joy

Sara has spoken to John at Ellerton and the rally field is available that weekend, but if we want it we need to pay a deposit now.

So can people please let us have :
There thoughts as to the suitability of this as an event.
An attendance list if you would like to come (I'll let you know where to send deposits once we know if it is a goer)
What coaching you would like.
If you are a coach who would like to help out, please let us know what you are able to offer.

It has been agreed that prices will be held at this years prices as that is when the booking will be made therefore the costs are:

Caravans £5.50 per night
Tents £3 per adult and £2 per junior (14 + under) per night

Launch fees for the lake £5 per adult and £3.50 per junior per day

Tents are not normally allowed but will be accomodated as long as there is at least one caravan.

The internet at home has gone down so I will only be able to check this when I am in the office at work, so appologies if I am a bit slow getting back to any queries but I will get back to you.

Regards

Wendy
Brilliant Wendy...joy

We'll be comming along with a 'van... and then will probably head down to the CCC Hereford meet on the Monday afternoon.

Cheers
Red.
Nice idea Wendy, we will make it if we can, it's too far away for us to confirm now though, don't even have a 2011 diary yet.

Simon, whats the CCC meet in Hereford on the 2nd of May?

TerrySmile
An excellent idea Wendy.

I'll be posting the dates up for 2011 shortly so I'll include this in the list.

I take it this will be posted elsewhere? Wink

Wow brilliant!
and its on my doorstep too

I'll bring our coffee machines and throw in some free coffee for those who partake in such - as they are all part of what has become Graham's Kitchen!

I'll be posting some pics soon so folk can see what became of the kitchen from the shop and see how we have put it to good use - and yes it is deicated to G!

What a lovely idea this is!

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat (so to speak) as Terry, but it is a grand idea, also I am contracted to work ( bleep ) bank holidays so Monday would be out as well.

Cheers

Hi all,

The Hereford CCC meet is the late May Bank Holiday, not the first one. Smile

Also, it is possibly clashing with another event that we're normally committed, so Vanessa and I probably won't be able to make it.

Regards,

Graham.
Good idea for a weekend to honour Graeme, I'd love to say yes, but we can't commit to anything at the moment, but it could be a good first camping trip for a little one Smile
