I'm up for booking up the Inchcailloch campsite, facilities- composting toilet only.
Inchcailloch is about a 15min paddle from Balmaha, and is a Nature reserve hence campsite, grassy, and beach. No facilites as such just a composting toilet, key available after booking. As it's a National Nature reserve it is partly exempt from the SOAC, hence no wild camping, although the official site - Port Bawn -is really wild camping.
I can post more info eg site rules and numbers tomorrow if anyone is up for a meet up. We can paddle out Friday Pm/Night and then explore the islands of Loch Lomond on Saturday and return or head back to Balmaha. The site has limited numbers, from memory 5 tents. If we are over that, folk can discretely (legally) wild camp on the nearby islands, especially Clarinch.
It has bootiful old oak trees, 3 wee walks, ample hammocking trees, fire pits/rings and a nice shallow beach for kids to wade/paddle. I have taken 5yr olds there and other adults for weekends. I live 45mins drive away.....
I'm thinking mid/late september for less midges and settled weather. I have overnight parked with no probs at the carpark across the road from the put in, the Boat Yard allows limited parking on request, although this is strictly by arrangement. You can't overnight park at Millarochy Bay, and the Nat. Park ask for personal/route details as well.
