If the cold weather continues the only safe bets for open water paddling in the lakes are Ullswater, Windermere, and Coniston any of the smaller lakes will be well on the way or already frozen. Another week of below zero temps could start to see these freeze, Windermere being the last due to boat traffic.
Now I no how the Canadians feel.
