Well sir, you can look forward to eating it accompanied by a bottle of Glenkinchie for that indeed is my local malt Wink. I am nearer to the Glenkinchie distillery then the St. Magdalene in Linlithgow. To be honest, I hadn't heard of St. Magdalene but googled it and it's a fair guess, Keith.

I'm in Midlothian whereas Glenkinchie is distilled in East Lothian and St. Magdalene in West Lothian. Bet Sir Jammy would've known!

Teetotal Kite

So you had me for a Peebles man. Well done Smile

That's where the haggis will be coming from - Forsyth's the Butchers (and Bakers). A big bugger in a sheeps stomach! Right then, I'm bringing the beastie so will someone else brings the tatties and the neeps?

Here we go, here we go, here we go...............

Haggis Kite
Did you know that the Haggis, Haggis scoticus, is oviparous.

Not many people know that.

Silly Biffy
Aha, Wikipedia must be wrong! It says there are only two oviparous mammals, the Echidna and the Platypus. To this we may add the humble Haggis Rolleyes

Anyone had a Haggis Egg for breakfast? I'll see if I can find some and bring them down. I've heard they may be made of chocolate Wink

Very Silly Kite
Sorry Mr kite I like whiskey, love the lorne sausage, partial to shortbread but I have to draw the line at a scrotum full of offal. Tongue

I'll try for the neeps but we may have to put up with swede, nearly the same.
Blackpudding braised with onions in whisky for a starter, served on Fried bread?

Ho, sir - now ye're talkin'! Sounds jist braw! Aye, we often have to use swede ourselves so that'll do nicely. Might try knockin' up a creamy whisky & onion sauce for the Haggis main course.

What have we told you about wearing yer kilt in this weather? Rolleyes
Sadly, I will now not be able to attend. I got a letter this morning confirming that I will be undergoing surgery to treat the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my left hand on 26th March. I knew I was on a waiting list but based on last years experience with my right hand, I thought it would be well into April or even the beginning of May before I'd be operated on. I could have telphoned to change this to a later date but that may have meant waiting until mid summer or even later and I rather it was out of the way. The sooner it heals the better and I'll have a better summer with my little girl as a result.

My mental health is very much on the up and I was really looking forward to this. Meeting old friends and new, spending time on the water and generally having a ball. I feel especially guilty as it was I that started this thread but I really don't want to wait any longer than I have to for this operation.

Redframe, I will honour the promise of a bottle of Glenkinchie and if you PM your address, I will send it in time for the weekend in question.

Have fun one and all,
Graeme Sad
Sorry to hear you're not going to make it
But pleased for you that the operation is imminent.

See you soon

That's very kind of you Graeme, but I'd rather you keep hold of it and bring it with you when you're out with us next, I'm sure all the Boys and Girls would agree that to drink it without you would not be good sport....Wink

Advanced, Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Cheers
Red.
Hi Graeme, just to echo everyone's sentiments, plenty of other trips to plan and attend, we will get to meet one day that I can promise you.
Best Regards Bill
Greame Sad next time it is then when that hands recovered Smile glad to see me old mate being so chipper these days. Wave
