Last year in the summer we ran a training weekend at Ellerton Lake near Ripon where there is camping/caravanning on site and a lovely clean lake.
We had Barbeque's in the evenings and it was a nice friendly get together with no pressure.
The aim of the weekend was for people to gain their new BCU 2* award and the Foundation Safety and Rescue Training at
no cost except for the BCU fee's, launch fee's and campsite.
Following a conversation with Dave (teespaddler) and Heather we are looking at doing another weekend this year.
So the question is, is anybody interested? we will need to know numbers as being a coaching weekend we have to adhere to ratios and apply for course numbers and authorisation from the BCU for the FSRT, also we need to recruit more coaches if the numbers are sufficient.
The date will be announced a bit later but looking at end of August, beginning of September.
So as the norm, names below please

Have got me 2*, but am happy to help with coaching if I'm not earning elsewhere.
Can do the flat water stuff for the 3* or could find somewhere to do all of the 3*, can also do FSRT; might even be able to do something around the L1 or L2 by then too!
Cheers Matt
There is a river that runs at the bottom of the campsite, which is mainly G1 the Ure is about 20/30 mins away which is an ideal venue for the moving water part of the 3* with the lake being the other venue for the sailing/rescue side etc.
I need to re-read the assessor notes for the 3* touring award, not sure if Ellerton is big enough to hold this on.
We can bring a variety kayak's, Sit on Tops, etc as alternative craft and I am sure that most peolpe on here can bring an open?

An L = Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, or Level 5 they are all coach levels with 1 being the first step and 5 being supposedly where it's at!

Hi Graeme,
Is this open to 'no level, complete numpties' like me, or is it for those who have gained level 1? if so I'd like to attend. Sorry for the ignorance in these matters.
Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
The only pre-req's for the 2* is that you can swim 25m with a BA and have completed two journey's of more than two hours duration, as you have been out with Sean & Bill the brew stops would have been longer than that
