Hi everyone, my name is Rick and I've been a casual paddler for about 6 years. I am a volunteer for 'River Stour Boating' A community interest company who plough the profits back into river projects on the Stour(Essex/Suffolk) We take groups of people the full 24 mile navigable stretch of the river with an overnight riverside campsite stop and provide all equipment for the trip. I started canoeing with a plywood Granta canadian, replaced that with a Pelican Explorer DLX and have just bought myself a new Old Town Camper 15 in Royalex which I am itching to get out on the water with. Like I said in the beginning I am just a casual paddler but really enjoy the rivers and countryside. Thanks for reading my waffle and hope to exchange posts in the future. Rick.

Hi Rick,

If you like casual paddling you need to team up the the Knight of the WaV (Sir Jamatrad), there's nothing he likes more than a brew stop or five.....Tongue

Thanks for the very warm welcome, as soon as I can find time to try the new canoe I will take some photo's and hopefully upload them to a post(not that confident as my album is Windows xp or I do have Adobe photoshop) I'll see how I get on. Rick.
Hi Rick,
Casual paddling sounds good to me. In fact for me it's the only paddling.
Hi Aslan, I've been following some of your posts and I see you paddle in the Durham area including Finchale. I stay at Finchale 3 times a year in my caravan, while my wife works in Sunderland and Darlington. Perhaps we could have a paddle someday. Rick.
