Just putting some feelers out to see if there would be any interest in a weekend trip down a lovely little river?, From start to finish about 12.5 miles, Am planning weekend on the 9th/10th May so as to get the best conditions, ie nice clear water moving at a gentle pace, it gets a bit weeded later in the year, There are a few locks that will need to be portaged and also Plenty of out the way camping spots, Will see if any interest then will come up with a plan, Andy.

Take a look here: http://www.igreens.org.uk/kyme_eau.htm - 27k The Water level was well down when pictures were taken.
Hi Andy

That looks like a nice trip, never heard of that river before Dunce I know the Whitham but did not know that these rivers were part of the system Wink

Cheers Graeme

I'd be up for this, if I can get some bums on seats to share the fuel....Cool
Hi Andy, yep could be up for this if I can procure a lift from Sir J or Mountain Man Grizzly Grimes, any chance of Hammocking?, if not you could leave me Here :-

2 miles - Corn mill lock (remains) and footbridge. Holdingham flour mill left.

Portage right. Over the wooden bridge is the old flour mill and the hexagonal Navigations Toll Collection Office.

Look out for the naked woman on the left bank.
Think I might like it here.
Regards Bill
Graeme, the Slea ends up in the witham at Chapel Hill, Had a look the other day and you would'nt want to be on it at the moment ILL.

Simon, Sir J was showing some interest in the trip when mentioned recently, so hopefully car share would work well, just hide that bloody Kazzoo.

Bill, I'm going to do a solo trip down there in a month or so's time to get a good idea for Brew stop's, Lunch stop's and the Camping spot, Have a great one in mind that would suit your hammocking just don't want it to be a mad rush to get there and spoil a nice leisurely trip, Have Canoed most of it with a friend so have got a rough idea it all depends on the amount of, Err Canvas that comes along for portaging round the few locks, the second one can be jumped, Will keep you all posted, Andy.

Andy Just simply book me in and the North West 'mob' will sort out travel arrangements.
I was going to use 'Mafia' but this has got people in trouble in the past.

Sir. Jammy
Sean you can use the term

Hi Gav, was planning on doing this trip on the weekend of May 9th+10th, if you leave it much later the water level drops and it suffers quite badly from weed, Andy.
Okay I will consult the diary and the bank account.
I could be interested as its fairly local Wink just need to make sure date is ok
